Small amount of paint rust through spots on passenger door - seems to have been repainted in this area a long time ago. Only mild surface rust on exterior spots. Top surfaces of paint are faded and the driver’s seat has some slit seams (taped to prevent them from splitting further). Very reliable, runs great, starts easily (pump twice then turn key). Air conditioning and vacuum tubing systems of climate control not repaired but Heater/Defroster rigged to be on and fan works manually (off, slow and fast). This car does have some oil leaks, I have not even tried to figure out where they are coming from.Ĭosmetically, there were a number of items that were just plane missing, so I purchased them to try and finish the car from an appearance standpoint: New starter and solenoid, new water pump, thermostat and fan clutch, new power steering pump, new valve seals, breather cap and valve cover gaskets, new plugs and wires (car was switched to an electronic ignition before I bought it, so no points or condenser), new rotor and distributor cap, repaired windshield washer pump and lines. Here are a few of the things I have done since I bought it. ![]() The car runs pretty good, but recently, had an idling issue that was solved by a carburetor rebuild. I did need to spray some of the parts I bought so they matched interior and they came out very nice. I think the interior looks very nice, looks like the carpet was recently replaced and I found receipts where the upholstery was redone. The chrome is decent with some pitting and rust, the top looks good. Also, the skirts are in great shape, but I can't get them to fit quite right. The body looks very solid on this car with the exception of the rocker panels, and a some light surface rust where the paint has been chipped (like this when I bought it). I now have approximately $8,900.00 invested. I bought this car in November of 2016 for $5,200.00. The reason for sale: It has taken too long and the costs are more than I wanted to spend at this time The car exterior is Emberglo, a new and special color for this car in 1965. As far as I know this is the original motor.
